Fantastic shopping in Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, is a shopper’s fantastic, whit plenty of large department stores as well as thousands of delightful smaller shops.

Antique lovers can find wonderful furniture in the small antique shops on Urt tsagaan Street, and collectors can find rare books on the bookstalls lining the banks of the River Tuul. There are also some great department stores which sell everything from perfume to furniture. Mongolian largest department store, offers a great variety of high quality woolen skirts, leather jackets and cashmere items. There you can buy cashmere clothes, shoes and jewellery.

Shops in Ulaanbaatar are usually open from ten or eleven in the morning till about seven in the evening, from Monday to Saturday. The big sales come before Tsagaan sar and Naadam.
